In Astrology, when three of the big seven planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn) enter a sign, it creates a powerful stellium that overtakes the whole chart. When three of those planets converge at the same degree, it can create a powerful point of healing for our souls if we show up to do the work. In numerology, the number nine indicates powerful endings of cycles, some devastating, yet necessary for our soul’s development.
In Norse cosmology, the sign Gemini is the Hall of Vali, Valaskjalf, where the slain speak and one can communicate directly with their Ancestors. Vali was born for the soul purpose of slaying Balder’s killer and so his birth came with a tremendous burden from family karma. Also, his mother was forced by Odin, so he was also carrying the sorrow of his mother and yet, he fulfilled his duty even with the whole injustice of his existence.
In Old Norse, “val” means chosen which can indicate that Vali was chosen for this very specific task of revenge. It is also noted in lore that Vali grew up in one day which indicates that he did not have the pleasure if childhood or innocence. This burden he was given caused him to grow old much faster than his brothers.
In many toxic family dynamics, children are often required to grow older before they're ready. They have stunted development in certain areas because they have to focus completely on emotionally maturing in one area to survive their childhood. This can often lead children to live life in Arrested Development, disadvantaged by others who got the time and attention to work through innocence, childhood, and grows towards maturity. Often when children are forced to become mature before their age, they are rushed into performing for others instead of actually understanding who they are or what they want in life. It’s possible that the story of Vali can indicate the darkness of the sign of Gemini, our ability to understand and communicate quickly and relationship dynamics, but also the immaturity that comes from not allowing ourselves to develop properly.
These planetary transits we'll be pointing towards some of those wounds within us, wounds that we may not even realize we have had because we just took our ancestors for granted. If other people have paid the price for our immaturity, we may be blissfully unaware of our impact on others. If other people have picked up the work around us, and not challenged us to grow and mature, we may not even realize how far behind we are in our growth process. Understanding the gravity of how much we need to grow can be quite painful to witness as well as humbling. This may be a time that will evoke great emotions within all of us. It will be up to us to own our emotions instead of project onto others blaming them while we claim to be a victim of our lives. Staying as a victim, keeps us from becoming accountable to our decisions and actions. While this time may bring painful revelations, won't be important for all of us to say the places where we are the weakest and decide how we can strengthen those areas within our minds. I have a feeling that topic of emotional maturity, wisdom, and family dynamics might become a very important topic on the world stage in the next coming weeks. The energy of Jupiter is bringing wisdom of the higher mind into the ego (moon) and out impulses (sun).
If you want to take advantage of these energies, cultivating the tools of emotional intelligence through being detached from the experience while feeling all of the emotions will help you see through some of the chaos. Writing about your emotions and expressing them through journaling or therapy also helps. There are many tools available for us at this time. We can also be compassionate to those around us who are struggling, but making sure that we are keeping ourselves safe from the emotional volatility of the people around us.
The darker side of this transit could be possession from the ancestral wounds that we inherited. If people are not aware of themselves or present in their bodies, they could be hijacked by their trauma responses and the learned behavior from their toxic families. This could be a time where emotions run high and people are losing their sense of self. It will be important to focus on your meditation practice and spiritual practice during this time. For some of you Rune Galdr or Mantra work will be very beneficial.
For others, you can look to the house where Gemini falls in your sidereal birth chart which can show you what kinds of remedies you can use to aid in your journey of healing with the Ancestors:
